Second Year at the University of Cincinnati
Semester Breakdown
The first semester of year two at the University of Cincinnati was very interesting to say the least. I think I grew the most during this stretch by overcoming obstacles that didn't just have to deal with time. This included adjusting to an off campus apartment, and dealing with severe car troubles while working part-time. However, there were many highlights to this semester, one being my growing involvement in a student organization called the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA). I was not only able to go to the regional conference in Chicago, but I was able to team up with the people I grew close with during that trip, to compete in a case competition for the accounting firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Our NABA group also did many preparations towards starting a UC chapter of the organization on campus, which proved both challenging and exciting. Another highlight of this semester included another Chicago trip with the Kolodzik Business Scholars, a business honors group in our college of business. I had recently transferred into the program, and thus was able to meet many of the people in the honors group for the first time. Additionally, the most significant highlight of this semester was my honors social entrepreneurship course which was the most unique course I have ever taken. This is explained in depth under the "University Honors Program" tab above. Generally, this was easily my toughest semester yet in regards to obstacles and a lack of time with a full course load. Yet again, I would not have grown nearly as much if each of these events hadn't occurred, which I am thankful for.
Semester two of my second year was my most adventurous semester yet. It was during this time that I became a resident advisor on campus, which opened up many exciting opportunities for me to meet and learn from new people who I never would have met had I not become an RA. This semester included a very unique highlight as well as I was able to take a study abroad course that involved a spring break trip to Paris, France and the country of Belgium. Additionally, I became an officer in the accounting honorary, Beta Alpha Psi. As exciting as this semester had been, I was not satisfied with my results in regards to academics, performance as an RA, and of course with time. Going forward, expect to see some major changes in order for me to conquer these goals once and for all.

Kolodzik Business Scholars - Chicago Trip
The Kolodzik Business Scholars (KBS) program is one of three honors groups at UC’s Lindner College of Business. As a recent transition student into this program, I had the unique opportunity to experience the Chicago Trip amongst other KBS students. During this experience, we were able to visit multiple companies in Chicago and witness how businesses in large cities operate.
National Association of Black Accountants – Regional Conference
The National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) is an organization that fosters the transition of minority students into various accounting professions. As a member of this organization, I had the opportunity to travel with my fellow UC NABA members to the Central Region Conference. During my time there, I was able to network with many people in the accounting profession including many students who were on similar career paths as myself. This was an amazing experience that I look to take part in on a yearly basis throughout my college career.
